Why stand we here trembling all around calling on God for help and not ourselves in whom God dwells?
‘왜 우리는 여기서 사방에 떨며 하나님께 도움을 청하고, 하나님께서 거하시는 우리 자신에게는 청하지 않는가?’
God does not dwell in us as something other than ourselves, for God actually became as we are, that one day we may be as He is.
하나님께서는 우리 자신과 다른 어떤 것으로서 우리 안에 거하시지 않습니다. 왜냐하면 하나님께서는 실제로 우리와 같이 되셨고, 언젠가 우리가 그분과 같이 될 수 있도록 하기 위함입니다.
I tell you: you are the Being who became man, the Being Blake refers to as God.
저는 여러분에게 말합니다: 여러분은 인간이 되신 존재, 블레이크가 하나님이라고 지칭한 바로 그 존재입니다.
You, human imagination, did not begin in your mother’s womb and will not end in the grave.
여러분, 인간의 상상력은 어머니의 자궁에서 시작되지 않았고 무덤에서 끝나지 않을 것입니다.
As a pre-existing Being, you emptied yourself of memory for a divine purpose.
선재하는 존재로서, 여러분은 신성한 목적을 위해 기억을 비웠습니다.
Tonight I will try to touch on that purpose.
오늘 밤 저는 그 목적에 대해 이야기해 보려 합니다.
In Paul’s letter to the Philippians he speaks of God in action as Christ Jesus who, though he was in the form of God, did not consider it something to grasp, but emptied himself, took upon himself the form of a slave and was born in the likeness of men.
바울은 빌립보서에서 행동하시는 하나님을 그리스도 예수로 묘사하는데, 그분은 하나님의 형상을 지니셨으나 그것을 붙잡아야 할 것으로 여기지 않으시고, 자신을 비워 종의 형상을 취하시고 사람의 모양으로 태어나셨습니다.
Being found in human form he humbled himself and took upon himself the cross of death.
사람의 형상으로 발견되시어 자신을 낮추시고 죽음의 십자가를 지셨습니다.
Your body of flesh is your cross of death which you took upon yourself when you who existed before the foundation of the world lost your memory.
여러분의 육신은 세상의 기초가 놓이기 전에 존재했던 여러분이 기억을 잃었을 때 스스로 짊어진 죽음의 십자가입니다.
Now Paul continues as though he is speaking to another, saying: ‘Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name Jesus every knee should bow on earth, in heaven, and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God.’
이제 바울은 마치 다른 이에게 말하는 것처럼 계속합니다: ‘그러므로 하나님께서 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사, 예수의 이름에 땅 위와 하늘과 땅 아래 있는 모든 무릎이 꿇게 하시고, 모든 혀가 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 하셨느니라.’
You may think Paul is speaking of another here, but I tell you: there is no other.
여러분은 바울이 여기서 다른 이에 대해 말하고 있다고 생각할지 모르지만, 저는 여러분에게 말합니다: 다른 이는 없습니다.
It is you who completely emptied yourself of your glory, your power and your wisdom, for you could not pretend to be nailed to the cross called Man.
여러분의 영광, 능력, 지혜를 완전히 비운 것은 바로 여러분 자신입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분은 인간이라는 십자가에 못 박힌 척할 수 없었기 때문입니다.
You deliberately took upon yourself the humility of your garment of flesh and blood which enslaves you.
여러분은 의도적으로 여러분을 노예로 만드는 살과 피의 옷이라는 겸손을 스스로 취했습니다.
You must cater to it constantly feeding it, washing it, and after eliminating what it cannot assimilate, you must clean the body again.
여러분은 끊임없이 그것에 음식을 주고, 씻기고, 그것이 동화할 수 없는 것을 제거한 후에는 다시 몸을 깨끗이 해야 합니다.
Christ (Imagination’s power and wisdom) is crucified and buried in man.
그리스도(상상력의 힘과 지혜)는 인간 안에 십자가에 못 박히고 묻힙니다.
When he rises in man he is called the Risen Christ and conferred with the divine name, Jesus as the New Age is ushered in.
그분이 인간 안에서 부활하실 때, 그는 부활하신 그리스도라 불리며 새로운 시대가 열리면서 신성한 이름인 예수를 받습니다.
The word ‘Jesus’ is the same as ‘Jehovah’, the saviour, whose name is I AM.
‘예수’라는 단어는 구원자이신 ‘여호와’와 같으며, 그분의 이름은 ‘나는 존재한다(I AM)’입니다.
Jesus is not a being separate from you.
예수는 여러분과 분리된 존재가 아닙니다.
He is you, but you have forgotten you are He.
그분은 여러분이지만, 여러분은 자신이 그분이라는 것을 잊었습니다.
You had to completely forget your power, your wisdom, and your glory to become what the world sees as a little man (a little woman) born from the womb of a woman, who plays a little part an then departs.
여러분은 세상이 여성의 자궁에서 태어나 작은 역할을 하고 떠나는 작은 남자(작은 여자)로 보는 존재가 되기 위해 여러분의 능력, 지혜, 영광을 완전히 잊어야 했습니다.
But there is an immortal play that is imminent and buried in all.
그러나 모든 것 안에 임박해 있고 묻혀 있는 불멸의 연극이 있습니다.
That immortal being is the one Blake referred to when he said: ‘Why stand we here trembling around calling on God for help and not ourselves, in whom God dwells.’
그 불멸의 존재는 블레이크가 말했던 바로 그 존재입니다: ‘왜 우리는 여기서 떨며 하나님께 도움을 청하고, 하나님께서 거하시는 우리 자신에게는 청하지 않는가.’
Everything you can think of is present, now.
여러분이 생각할 수 있는 모든 것은 지금, 현존합니다.
You cannot conceive of something that is not already worked out in detail. But it is a shadow if you do not dwell in it.
이미 세부적으로 완성되지 않은 것을 상상할 수는 없습니다. 그러나 여러분이 그 안에 거하지 않는다면 그것은 그림자일 뿐입니다.
It is just a possibility, but when you enter that shadow it seems the only substance.
그것은 단지 가능성이지만, 여러분이 그 그림자 속으로 들어가면 그것이 유일한 실체처럼 보입니다.
I have seen a world in my imagination that is not like this.
저는 제 상상 속에서 이와 같지 않은 세상을 보았습니다.
Prior to my entrance it as a mere possibility, an image, but when I entered that world and allowed my consciousness to follow vision, it was more real than this room is now.
제가 들어가기 전에는 그것은 단순한 가능성, 이미지였지만, 제가 그 세상으로 들어가 제 의식이 환상을 따르도록 허용했을 때, 그것은 지금 이 방보다 더 현실적이었습니다.
At the moment I am in this room and it is real.

When I depart, this will become a memory image, and wherever I am at that moment will be more real than this room or any part of my world.

My home was real when I left it and will be real when I enter it again, but now it is a memory image.

This room has reality to me because I am in it.

I tell you: everything exists and can be just as real as this room.

The job you desire exists.
여러분이 원하는 직업은 존재합니다.
The home of your dreams exists.
여러분의 꿈의 집은 존재합니다.
The man or woman who is perfect for you exists.
여러분에게 완벽한 남자나 여자는 존재합니다.
You cannot conceive of a state that is not already worked out in detail, waiting for someone to occupy.
이미 세부적으로 완성되어 누군가가 차지하기를 기다리고 있는 상태를 상상할 수는 없습니다.
As a desire it is only a dream, a mere image, but when the state is entered, it is the only reality.
욕망으로서는 그것은 단지 꿈, 단순한 이미지이지만, 그 상태에 들어가면 그것이 유일한 현실입니다.
In order to come into this world you had to completely empty yourself of your creative power, your wisdom, and glory.
이 세상에 들어오기 위해 여러분은 창조력, 지혜, 영광을 완전히 비워야 했습니다.
The day will come when, having gone through the gamut, God in you (who is your very self) will rise in you.
모든 과정을 거친 후, 여러분 안에 있는 하나님(바로 여러분 자신)께서 여러분 안에서 부활하시는 날이 올 것입니다.
Then your memory will return and the divine name Jesus will be conferred upon you.
그러면 여러분의 기억이 돌아오고 신성한 이름 예수가 여러분에게 수여될 것입니다.
And when this name is heard (in you) every knee shall bow in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God, because you will know you are God.
그리고 이 이름이 (여러분 안에서) 들릴 때 하늘과 땅 위와 땅 아래의 모든 무릎이 꿇고 모든 혀가 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님께 영광을 돌릴 것입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분은 자신이 하나님이라는 것을 알 것이기 때문입니다.
You have always been God, but in order to take on your garment of limitation you had to become limited.
여러분은 항상 하나님이었지만, 제한의 옷을 입기 위해 제한되어야 했습니다.
You could not pretend you were man; you had to take upon yourself this cross called man, with all of its weaknesses and limitations.
여러분은 인간인 척할 수 없었습니다. 여러분은 모든 약점과 한계를 가진 인간이라는 이 십자가를 스스로 짊어져야 했습니다.
Does the Bible in any way suggest this? Yes.
성경이 어떤 식으로든 이것을 암시합니까? 네.
In the Book of John we are told: ‘In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwells within us.’
요한복음에는 이렇게 기록되어 있습니다: ‘태초에 말씀이 계시니라 이 말씀이 하나님과 함께 계셨으니 이 말씀은 곧 하나님이시니라. 그리고 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 안에 거하시매.’
If you were with God and were God you pre-existed.
만약 여러분이 하나님과 함께 있었고 하나님이었다면 여러분은 선재했습니다.
Before Abraham, was I AM.
아브라함 이전에, 나는 존재했다(I AM).
Does that not imply pre-existence?
그것이 선재를 암시하지 않습니까?
‘Tell me, Master, who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind? I tell you, neither this man nor his parents, but that the works of God may be made manifest in him.’
‘주여, 이 사람이 눈먼 자로 태어난 것이 누구의 죄입니까, 이 사람입니까 아니면 그의 부모입니까? 내가 너희에게 이르노니, 이 사람이나 그의 부모가 아니라, 하나님의 일이 그에게서 나타나게 하려 함이니라.’
Isn’t that pre-existence?
그것이 선재가 아닙니까?
Either the man sinned in his mother’s womb, and this is the result, or he pre-existed.
그 남자가 어머니의 자궁에서 죄를 지었고 이것이 그 결과이거나, 아니면 그가 선재했습니다.
Blindness is state which must be experienced.
맹목은 경험되어야 하는 상태입니다.
No one will avoid any experience, but must (and will) play every part known to man.
아무도 어떤 경험도 피할 수 없으며, 인간에게 알려진 모든 역할을 해야만 합니다 (그리고 할 것입니다).
Now in the 17th [chapter] of John, the Risen Christ asks the Father (who he knows himself to be) to make everyone be where he is, ‘That they may see my glory which thou gavest me, and the love with which thou loved me before the foundation of the world.’
이제 요한복음 17장에서 부활하신 그리스도께서는 아버지(자신이 바로 그분임을 아시는)께 모든 사람이 자신이 있는 곳에 있게 해 달라고 간청하십니다. ‘이는 아버지께서 창세 전부터 나를 사랑하시므로 내게 주신 내 영광을 그들로 보게 하려 함이니이다.’
You and I were loved (for we are part of the body of love which existed before the foundation of the world) before we came down to expand our power, our wisdom, and our glory.
여러분과 저는 (세상의 기초가 놓이기 전에 존재했던 사랑의 몸의 일부이므로) 우리의 능력, 지혜, 영광을 확장하기 위해 내려오기 전에 사랑받았습니다.
To do this, we had to reach the limit of contraction – which is man, the limit of opacity – which is doubt.
이를 위해 우리는 수축의 한계 – 즉 인간, 불투명성의 한계 – 즉 의심에 도달해야 했습니다.
We had to completely forget the being we really are and doubt that we ever existed.
우리는 진정으로 우리가 누구인지 완전히 잊고 우리가 존재했었다는 사실조차 의심해야 했습니다.
Here we are experiencing the limit of contraction and opacity. But the moment will come when He who is within us, sound asleep and appearing to be dead, will be awakened by a storm wind to find himself encased in a tomb.
여기서 우리는 수축과 불투명성의 한계를 경험하고 있습니다. 그러나 우리 안에 계신 분, 깊이 잠들어 죽은 것처럼 보이는 분이 폭풍에 의해 깨어나 자신이 무덤에 갇힌 것을 발견하는 순간이 올 것입니다.
Rising, Christ (God’s creative power) comes out of his tomb from above and is conferred with the greatest of all names, which is Jesus.
부활하시어, 그리스도(하나님의 창조력)는 위에서부터 자신의 무덤에서 나와 모든 이름 중에 가장 위대한 이름인 예수를 받습니다.
So in the end there is Jesus only.
그래서 결국에는 오직 예수만이 계십니다.
You, collectively, are the Cosmic Christ who is buried in all.
여러분은 집합적으로 모든 것 안에 묻힌 우주적 그리스도입니다.
And when He rises in you, individually, memory will return and you will know you are Jesus, the Lord God Jehovah.
그리고 그분이 여러분 안에서 개별적으로 부활하실 때, 기억이 돌아오고 여러분은 자신이 주 하나님 여호와이신 예수라는 것을 알게 될 것입니다.
Then who is Christ? I AM.
그러면 누가 그리스도입니까? 나는 존재한다(I AM).
What is God’s name? I AM.
하나님의 이름은 무엇입니까? 나는 존재한다(I AM).
What is David’s Father’s name? I AM.
다윗의 아버지의 이름은 무엇입니까? 나는 존재한다(I AM).
The essence of all that you have experienced as man will stand before you.
여러분이 인간으로서 경험한 모든 것의 본질이 여러분 앞에 설 것입니다.
Personified as the crown of your journey, your Son will bear witness to your victory over death.
여러분의 여정의 면류관으로 의인화된 여러분의 아들이 죽음에 대한 여러분의 승리를 증언할 것입니다.
That Son is David, of Biblical fame.
그 아들은 성서에 나오는 유명한 다윗입니다.
You had to die to enter the world of death, but you will rise out of death to be transfigured to wear the divine body of Jesus.
여러분은 죽음의 세계로 들어가기 위해 죽어야 했지만, 죽음에서 부활하여 예수의 신성한 몸을 입도록 변화될 것입니다.
Everyone will be gathered into that one body called the Lord Jesus Christ.
모든 사람이 주 예수 그리스도라 불리는 그 하나의 몸으로 모일 것입니다.
In this world things are what they appear to be, but – as Blake said so beautifully:
이 세상에서 사물은 보이는 그대로이지만 – 블레이크가 아름답게 말했듯이:
‘Those in great eternity who contemplate Death
Said thus. What seems to Be: Is: To those to whom
It seems to Be, and is productive of the most dreadful
Consequences to those to whom it seems to Be: even of
Torments, Despair and Eternal Death: But Divine Mercy
Steps beyond and Redeems Man in the Body of Jesus.’
‘위대한 영원 속에서 죽음을 숙고하는 자들이
이같이 말하였도다. 보이는 것은, 보이는 자들에게는, 실재하며
가장 끔찍한 결과를 낳으니, 보이는 자들에게는,
고통, 절망, 영원한 죽음까지도 그러하도다. 그러나 신성한 자비는
그 너머로 나아가 예수의 몸 안에서 인간을 구속하느니라.’
When it seems that everything is lost, you begin to awake within yourself.
모든 것이 길을 잃은 것처럼 보일 때, 여러분은 자신 안에서 깨어나기 시작합니다.
You will not see another, for the drama takes place in a first person, singular, present tense experience.
여러분은 다른 이를 보지 못할 것입니다. 왜냐하면 그 드라마는 1인칭 단수 현재 시제의 경험으로 일어나기 때문입니다.
You are the Christ written of in scripture.
여러분은 성경에 기록된 그리스도입니다.
You are your own hope of glory.

Jesus Christ is in you as your human imagination, so why call upon another for help?
예수 그리스도께서는 여러분의 인간 상상력으로서 여러분 안에 계시는데, 왜 다른 이에게 도움을 청합니까?
Why not call upon yourself in whom imagination dwells?
상상력이 거하는 여러분 자신에게 청하지 않겠습니까?
I tell you: there never was another Jesus Christ other than he who dwells in you as your human awareness.
저는 여러분에게 말합니다: 여러분의 인간 인식으로서 여러분 안에 거하시는 분 외에는 다른 예수 그리스도는 결코 없었습니다.
A short time ago a friend told me she would love to visit Norway, but felt she could not afford it.
얼마 전 한 친구가 노르웨이를 방문하고 싶지만 그럴 형편이 안 된다고 제게 말했습니다.
I suggested that she dwell in Norway by seeing the world from Norway.
저는 그녀에게 노르웨이에서 세상을 바라봄으로써 노르웨이에 거하라고 제안했습니다.
She was not going to look at Norway from Los Angeles, or ask how she was going to get there, but to simply sleep as though her bed was in Norway and it was the only substance.
그녀는 로스앤젤레스에서 노르웨이를 바라보거나 어떻게 그곳에 갈 것인지 묻지 않고, 단지 그녀의 침대가 노르웨이에 있는 것처럼, 그리고 그것이 유일한 실체인 것처럼 잠을 자려고 했습니다.
I received a card from her today, from Norway, where she confessed that she dwelled in the state as though she was there and she received a call from a casting office requesting her to make a picture in Norway!
오늘 노르웨이에서 그녀로부터 엽서를 받았는데, 그녀는 마치 그곳에 있는 것처럼 그 상태에 거했더니 캐스팅 사무실에서 노르웨이에서 영화를 찍자는 전화를 받았다고 고백했습니다!
You can move into any state, for all states are already completed.
여러분은 어떤 상태로든 들어갈 수 있습니다. 왜냐하면 모든 상태는 이미 완성되어 있기 때문입니다.
All you need to do is step into the state, for it to be transformed from a shadow to the only substance.
여러분이 해야 할 일은 그 상태로 들어가는 것뿐입니다. 그러면 그것이 그림자에서 유일한 실체로 변형될 것입니다.
Think of your desire and it’s a shadow lacking form.
여러분의 욕망을 생각하면 그것은 형태가 없는 그림자입니다.
Enter it and it is the only reality.
그것에 들어가면 그것이 유일한 현실입니다.
I tell you: the being who is aware of being you, now, was in the beginning with God and was God.

You are God’s power, wisdom, and glory suffering from amnesia, for you could not pretend to enter this graveyard called earth.
여러분은 기억상실증을 앓고 있는 하나님의 능력, 지혜, 영광입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분은 지구라는 이 묘지에 들어가는 척할 수 없었기 때문입니다.
The unnumbered bodies observed here are graves which your immortal presence animates.

Your flesh-and-blood garment could not breathe without you, for you are its breath.
여러분의 살과 피의 옷은 여러분 없이는 숨을 쉴 수 없습니다. 왜냐하면 여러분이 그것의 숨결이기 때문입니다.
Believing yourself to be the fleshly body you animate, you do not recognise your brothers when you see others.
자신이 생명을 불어넣는 육체라고 믿기 때문에, 여러분은 다른 사람들을 볼 때 형제들을 알아보지 못합니다.
Rather, you war against the seeming others as though they were your enemy. Yet you are told in the 2nd [chapter] of Philippians: ‘Let each of you think not only of his own interest, but also to the interests of others. Let this mind be in you, the mind which you have with Christ Jesus.’

It’s the same mind. Paul couldn’t have said it better.
그것은 같은 마음입니다. 바울은 이보다 더 잘 말할 수 없었을 것입니다.
Your interest should be to the interest of all, because basically all are one.
여러분의 관심은 모든 이의 관심이어야 합니다. 왜냐하면 기본적으로 모든 이는 하나이기 때문입니다.
When these garments are finally taken off and we reenter the one body that fell, we will be that glorious being who is the Lord and Father of the entire journey.
이 옷들이 마침내 벗겨지고 우리가 타락했던 그 하나의 몸으로 다시 들어갈 때, 우리는 전체 여정의 주님이자 아버지이신 그 영광스러운 존재가 될 것입니다.
I received a letter this week from a man who shared a series of dreams which occurred one night.
이번 주에 한 남자로부터 편지를 받았는데, 그는 하룻밤 사이에 일어난 일련의 꿈들을 공유했습니다.
The final one is the clue to the dreams.
마지막 꿈이 그 꿈들의 단서입니다.
In it he saw a huge, horrible monkey which clung to his back.
그 안에서 그는 거대하고 끔찍한 원숭이가 그의 등에 매달려 있는 것을 보았습니다.
It felt unclean and strange, and when it began to make love to him he tore it off his back, and as he did, he awoke.

This was a perfect vision.

He saw the symbol of the misuse of his creative imagining.

Everyone has such a dweller on his threshold of thoughts which is fed by imagining something unlovely.

And everyone also has the complementary side as a glorious, angelic being whose beauty is beyond measure.

She is the personification of every lovely imaginal act the individual has ever committed.

One day they will be together.

When the vision came to me, my hairy monstrous ape called my angelic being “mother.”

I became so annoyed.
저는 너무나 짜증이 났습니다.
I began to beat it, until I realised that it grew on my violence.

It became stronger with every blow as it loved every violent act of mine, even when it was on itself.

Then I made myself a pledge, that if it took eternity I would redeem this monstrous being which had a right to live.

The moment I made the pledge it dissolved, leaving not a trace behind.

At the moment this room is far more real to me than any place I have ever visited.

That name is Jesus.

No one can see Jesus here, but everyone will know him because we will all be him.

In the meanwhile, Christ – the power, the wisdom, and the glory of God – is buried in us and will be raised in us.

You are a pre-existent being.

You did not begin in your mother’s womb and you cannot die in the grave.

You were before the foundation of the world, for you are the being of whom Paul speaks when he wrote to the Philippians.

His letter is addressed to posterity, for he was writing from experience.

I have had all of the experiences that are now recorded in scripture concerning the Lord Jesus Christ – and I mean all of them. Yet I am in a weak garment and will remain there until the day I take it off to return to my former state, glorified beyond what I was before I began the journey into death and decay.

God’s infinite love loved us all.

Foreknowing us, he chose us all in his one being.

Together we fell as one man and entered the world of death.

Bear in mind what you are told in the 32nd chapter of Deuteronomy: ‘He has set bounds to the people of the world according to the number of the sons of God.’

If God is not in you, you could not breathe, for he is your breath of life.

Your child – be it a boy or a girl – is Christ who is destined to be designated son of God in power through Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

While here on earth your child may be a carpenter, a musician, or professor.

It matters not what part he plays here, but the moment Christ in him resurrects into that one body, he has returned to his power, his glory, and his wisdom and is designated Son of God, in power and joins the glorious brotherhood of divine love.

Love is the human form divine.

When that indescribably body of love stands before you and embraces you, a mood possesses you which carries with it an ecstasy beyond all ecstasies.

Everyone played their part in order for the works of God to be made manifest in all.

There are those who will believe because you use scripture to support your argument, and those who will disbelieve – but it doesn’t really matter.

When I tell you what has happened to me I can speak more convincingly than if I were theorising, for the truth that you know from personal experience is known more thoroughly than you can know that same truth in any other way.

Trusting me, you will believe my story, but you cannot tell it with authority until it happen to you.

You cannot go into court and be a witness unless you have experienced the event.

And there must be two witnesses: The written word in scripture and its parallel, the Living Word of interpretation.

He sent you, His Living Word, to interpret and verify the written word which he gave to his servants, the prophets.

In dollars and cents? No.

He was rich in power, for he was the power of God.
그분은 능력에 부요하셨습니다. 왜냐하면 그분은 하나님의 능력이셨기 때문입니다.
He was rich in wisdom, for he was the wisdom of God.
그분은 지혜에 부요하셨습니다. 왜냐하면 그분은 하나님의 지혜이셨기 때문입니다.
He was poor in wisdom, poor in power, and poor in glory to enter the world of death that by his poverty you may become rich.
그분은 지혜에 가난하셨고, 능력에 가난하셨으며, 영광에 가난하셔서 죽음의 세계로 들어가셨습니다. 그의 가난함으로 말미암아 여러분이 부요하게 되도록 하기 위함입니다.
And when you awaken, everything you lost will be found and multiplied, for you will know yourself to be the Lord Jesus Christ of whom there is no other.
