The Bible is not a record of historical events, but a revelation of eternal states of consciousness.

These states are not in some far-off heaven, but within you.

They are the eternal framework of your own wonderful human imagination.

And you, by your imaginal activity, are constantly moving from one state to another.

Tonight, I want to talk to you about two of these states: the state of Abraham and the state of Christ.

Abraham represents the state of faith.

It is the state of knowing that your imaginal act is a fact, even though your senses deny it.

Christ represents the state of fulfillment.

It is the state of knowing that your desire is already a fact.

Now, we are all constantly moving between these two states.

We desire something, and we enter the state of Abraham, the state of faith.

We imagine our desire fulfilled, and we believe in its reality.

And as we persist in this faith, we move into the state of Christ, the state of fulfillment.

Our desire becomes an objective fact in our outer world.

This is the eternal drama of salvation, and it is played out in the imagination of every man.

We are all Abraham, believing in the unseen.

This is the truth that sets us free.

So, I urge you to enter into the state of Abraham.

Now, let me share with you a story that illustrates this truth.

A lady came to me some time ago, and she was very unhappy.

She had been married for many years, but her husband had left her for another woman.

Every night, before she went to sleep, she would imagine her husband by her side.
